A parliamentary no confidence motion is a statement which suggests that a person(s) in a position of responsibility in the parliament or the appointed government no longer has the confidence of the rest of the elected members of parliament to continue in the current position. Once a no confidence motion is initiated in parliament, it is discussed in parliament. The motion is passed if a simple majority of the members of parliament votes in favor of it during the voting session. The no confidence motion against Hon. Prime Minister Ranil Wickeremesinghe will be debated on 4th April 2018 and will be voted on at 9.30pm the same day.
